My Before
Today was a rough day. I took my little sister to rehab in Phoenix. Not only was it totally out of my comfort zone to drive that far into town, we were a little lost. The battery on my laptop is completely dead so I had no way to map quest the address. Me and Ash both agreed that eventually we would cross paths with one of the streets we were looking for so we drove. We finally found the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center after driving about 20 minutes in the exact opposite direction of where we needed to be. But we made it. I sat outside with Ash as she had one last cigarette before we went inside. As we walked to the door, I asked her if I could take her "Before" picture. She laughed and said no, but I begged. She decided it was okay and let me, then we went inside. I had so many questions: chances, clothes, prescriptions and will she be accepted. 3 hour intake, 1 hour interview. Breathalyzer and paperwork. I left. I hugged her goodbye and couldn't even look her in the eyes. I just cried. I walked back to my car and cried. I sent out a text to the family letting them know she was in and then I drove to work. I cant wait for the day when I can write about the "After." Until then, here is the before.
